Junior Team Numbers

Without wanting to be seen as stirring the pot against Centrals and Mavericks, I have just looked through the number of junior teams they have nominated for Winter. They are 17 and 14 respectively whereas most other clubs are around 40ish (Woodville 30/West 36).

What is particularly more disturbing for Centrals is that of those 17 teams only 5 are entered into the U14 and younger age groups. This is in total for boys and girls. How can a clube reasonably expect to survive in the current environment with that level of participation and with so few younger kids coming through?

Simple, they won't survive.

there aren't as many people in the club and in the area.

And they will not survive.

Centrals could survivefinancially. It may be better of if it merged though. There are very few fixed costs of running a basketball club. THe only reason a club gets into financial strife is due to poor management.

if you don't want to be seen as stirring the pot then why bother with this thread...in time we will all know if either of these clubs survive.
