Breakers coach off to the US for a month

Obviously I found this a little bit more interesting than I might have a month ago, but NZ Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis has departed for a month-long trip to the US that includes a week with the San Antonio Spurs, coaching seminars, meeting with coaches of NZ college players and identifying future talent.

Lemanis will attend the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament from April 5-8 to scout talent and the latest in coaching systems. More than 50 years' old, the tournament features 64 invited College Seniors playing in front of more than 200 NBA representatives over four days.

He is also meeting with player agents and will catch up with Tony Bennett, the College coach of Thomas Abercrombie, who starts at Washington State later in the year. Lemanis has been working individually with Abercrombie in Auckland, and is in contact with Bennett regarding the rising star's college goals.
