A positive out of this game for Centrals is that they kept the almighty unstoppable Doug Mcdonald-Taylor scoreless... Honestly he is a god on the court and he'd my fav player... Scoreless??? Congrats Centrals for that feat.

What a thumping! 52 cans has a valid point...DMT scoreless! interesting that it happened in a 70 point win. Dougie usually plays his best basketball when the games are tough and close. Could be why his numbers have been slightly down lately...the eagles are winning so comfortably week in week out that there has been no need for him to have big games, that and with all the shooters that the eagles have, it must be hard for the big fella to get his hands on the ball, havn't seen him play for a few weeks, but im sure he is still doing the little things for the team!

They have tried to buy a senior championship but have their performances actually gone backwards? They seem to be struggling more than they did a 2 or 3 years ago.

Until centrals focus on their junior program, instead of trying to recruit a senior championship they will continue to struggle as a club and weaken the whole competition.

OK what is different with Centrals from last year, they had 6 wins for the season and so far have 2 this season and don't look like getting another unless there is a big turnaround.

They have much the same team as last year (top 8) with the addition of Jarrad Graves, Ricky has also changed Assistant Coaches bring in Scott Whitmore and Dan Clausen, Dan's son Chris is a year older and after a successful state under 20's has improved. On the surface you would think the additions are a positive move but has it backfired? Has these additions unsettled the players from last year? Thoughts.

Does it say something about the standard of the competition? Sturt are a better team, Forestville possibly, Norwood, Eastern, who else?

It doesnt look like a Centrals bashing thread at all. Some of the comments are constructive and even complimentary. Dont be so negative.

North are playing much better than last year as well.

I think the only teams trending down from last year are Centrals (one year wonder?), Woodville (key personnel gone) & West (grooming some kids for the future).

I think South & Southern have both remained mediocre.

So I'd say 5 have probably improved (by varying amounts), 2 remained roughly the same & 3 have gone backwards.

I would have expected Centrals to take steps forward this year, after a year together to gel & with the addition of Graves. While Reggie appears to still be solid (reasonably similar stats), I think Graves has struggled (27% fgs!) and Watson has been far less effective (20ppg @ 38% compared to 29ppg @ 43% in 2005). Not the mention Justin Wilkey's steep decline (from 18ppg @ 43% to under 8ppg @ 34%).

With the slightly longer season it's still possible for Centrals to turn it around, and they have a winnable game this week vs West, but their 'name' players would want to start stepping it up!

Eagles beat Sturt at Pasadena and are on top of the ladder in most other recent Eagles/Sturt matchups, Eagles have pretty much always won.

Eagles are better than Sturt.
And Centrals suck.

The juniors are pretty bad aswell for Centrals

For a team to fall so far off the tracks there must be a reason. Team chemistry might be a reason, but you couldn't ask for better coaches so who know's.

Hey sixer centrals juniors suck i think we beat your 20's div one team 2 weeks back by 11, team of 7 against 9 not to mention summer season forrestville had whooped us by 36 points the last time we met so thats a 48 point turnaround ? tell me if ur in there team what where you doin when we trod all over you, up by 20 at 3/4 time few charity fouls for you guys got you closer come on where centrals we suck push overs i can see a few people are full of them selves maybe you should check sporting results and have yourself a more informed and creative thread next time instead of " centrals suck" wow very intelligent i hope you are this smart when you play on the court you should go far none of my team can read or write but we can play ball cant wait to play you's again!

but gettin back to the oringial topic sorry i would say centrals lack team chemistry alot there's one group of guys here and another here then the juniors who play are over there, i wouldnt imagine they all socialise alot out of basketball somthing my team has being putting a effort in is to mingle out side of ball have a bit of fun etc and its working every week where becoming a stronger unit and really want to win not just play but play to win the season and help each other get there as we have all had time to hang out and talk about what we want to achieve goal thats somthing i believe our aba mens team dont have if you where to ask them what they wanted out of the season you would get mixed results or they would probably just look at you and be like ? WTF i believe the answer should be simple " win the championship that should be every teams motivation improve, play and win as a team to win the " holy grail of b ball in this state this is what my teams thoughts are maybe the aba men could take a note from our page we intend to bloody go the distance and rid ourselves as suck centrals bashing as sixer enligtened us on before " we suck" "Things change, empires fall and those left take the throne".
