should our tables show winning %

should sportingpulse show winning % ratio.

after reading a column regarding not understanding byes / premiership points and points % - the way your team finishes - maybe we should show what the bylaw sates and show the team with higher winning% above the equal team on premiership points

nothing more frustrating for your average sportingpulse viewer thinking they have held a higher spot or will be in finals only to discover the team with less points but higher winning % gets through at the last minute - the tables should read this earlier

ie

team A - season 20 games
10 wins 5 losses 5 byes @ 150% point wise = 35 premiership points

team B - season 20 games

10 wins 2 losses 8 byes @ 110% point wise = 32 premiership points

the current table would show A above B

but the way the bylaw is

team A has a 75% win ratio

team B has a 83% win ratio and would finish in the higher spot after the table showing them lower

generally, all teams play the same number of byes. Hence it makes no difference at all !

It's the exception that is the problem. U16G3 have two teams in the top five that have had byes, but now there are an even number of teams, hence no more byes.

The "official" ladder would have Southern Tigers fifth instead of third as shown on Sporting Pulse.

Showing the ladder in accordance with the by-laws is a sensible solution, if possible.

Basketball is a minority sport in Australia, for many reasons. Someteams have byes and some dont. this is the luck of the draw and is the fault of all clubs, put in and/or pulling out teams. Under the clubs can manage better simple suck it in. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose.
oracle - gee what can I say... it is very easy. Premership points count. Unless two teams are on the same premership points at the end of the season. if this happens it is the overall winning percentage between the two teams on the same points. (which maybe different to the scoring percentage points)
