Funny Hang Time 20, including Finals Details

Hang Time was sent out by BSA not ten minutes ago, and here's the intro news with the upcoming games afterwards:

SABRES SEAL TOP SPOTS

With the regular season completed, Sturt Sabres have earned favoritism to take out the premiership for both the men and women's 2006 BankSA State Leagues. In the final round both teams finished on top of the ladder, with some doubts being caste on the credibility of several of their possible opponents.

The Sabres had no trouble accounting for their opponents, the Panthers in the final regular season round, even without full line-ups in either men or women's teams. Perhaps the most interesting element of the men's game was the shoot-out between Darren Ng and Damien Scanlon for their respective teams. Darren overtook Damien's previous season-high 51 points with 52 points that included six 3-pointers and 18 points from the foul line. Damien also continued his fine season with 36 points. Both players should poll well in this year's Woollacott Medal count.

In the women's game the league's leading female scorer Jenine Browne capped off a fine season for the Panthers with 23 points, 17 rebounds and 2 assists. She also should poll well in the Halls' Medal count.

At Mars the Norwood Flames capped off their minor rounds with excellent wins by their women and men against the Bearcats. Unfortunately, the win by the women in overtime was not enough to tip Southern Tigers out of fifth position. On the other hand, the Flames were on fire in the men's game and the coals remained alight for them as Woodville Warriors' loss to North Adelaide Rockets enabled the Flames to pinch that vital fifth position.

The see-saw battle between the Forestville Eagles' men and Eastern Mavericks this season will be repeated this week. The Eagles' went down to the Mavericks when they were kept to their lowest score (67 points) this season. The two teams will face up again in the Qualifying Final.

The Eagles women broke loose in the final quarter of their game against the Mavericks with their three Lightning representatives showing their quality. Dee Ranford led the way with 22 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

Their opponents in this week's Qualifying Final, North Adelaide Rockets, had an easy win over the Warriors, with Joanne Hill playing a dominant role with 25 points. In the men's game the Rockets blasted the Warriors out of the five with former 36ers Nick Hambour and Paul Rees scoring 24 points and 25 points respectively for their teams.
