Yao says no more shark fin soup

Yao Ming has sworn off shark's fin soup, a bit of a delicacy in China, and joined a wildlife protection campaign.

"Endangered species are our friends," Yao said on Wednesday at a news conference organized by the San Francisco-based conservation group WildAid.

A television commercial shown at Yao's news conference featured him jumping up from a basketball court to block a bullet fired at an elephant.
Wonder if this will have a big impact on the younger generations in his homeland?

Not enough internationals are doing this. What about:

- Luol Deng speaking out on female circumcision;

- Andrew Bogut denouncing The Wedge as a crime against humanity

- Umm, could only come up with two. Maybe Pau Gasol condemning his own beard?
