While the Slingers have not played an official NBL match together before, the bulk of their lineup competed for the now-defunct Hunter Pirates in the 2005/06 NBL season.

The battle between Singapore's Mike Helms (21.9 PPG last season, 3rd in NBL) and Adelaide's Willie Farley (19.8 PPG, 7th) is sure to excite the crowd while Brett Maher and Brad Davidson will go head to head at the point guard position.
