NBA Predictions

With the first game of the NBA less than 24 hours away I was wondering what people's feelings are on the up-coming season.

Will Miami repeat???
Will Amare strengthen the Suns???
Who will win ROY???

Lots of questions.

My predications are:

NBA Champs: Suns (Amare puts them over the top even at 75% fit)

Runner Up: Miami Heat

MVP: LeBron
6th Man: Barbosa
ROY: Brandon ROY/Adam Morrison
MIP: Sean May
Leading Scorer: Kobe
Defensive Player: AK47
Smokey Team: Golden State Warriors
Coach: Byron Scott (Hornets)

First Team
G: Nash
SG: Kobe
SF: LeBron
PF: Garnett
C: Shaq

Looking at the Bulls to take it to Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Miami to edge them 4-3. Bulls to begin with homecourt advantage.

Only thing that worries me about the Bulls, a serious lack for scoring power in the post..... Big Ben and PJ won't do it on the O end.

When you really look at it, having Big Ben on your team is a liability. Offensively he does nothing, so defenders sag off and double other guys. Watch for Gordon and Co to struggle to get shots off, while the Pistons will flourish.

cmon Bizzy, Detroit did alright with Ben...couple of championships.

NBA Champs: It's going to come down whether Amare comes good or not. It doesn't really matter when, as long as it'd by play-off time.

So if he does, Suns. If not then it's Miami.

MVP: LeBron James
6th Man: Barbosa
ROY: Brandon Roy or Randy Foye (Morrison won't win this)
MIP: Bogut
Leading Scorer: Gilbert Arenas (This might look silly, but he nearly averaged 30 last year, plus he'll have something to prove after he got cut from Team USA)
Defensive Player: Big Ben or Artest
Smokey Team: GS Warriors/ NO Hornets
Coach: Don Nelson (Watch Davis go off under him, and Dunleavy too)

Chicago wont do very well at all.

and sorry bizzy but im pretty sure Josh Howard is a certain starter.

Champs: Miami

Runner Up: Suns

MVP: LeBron

6th Man: Redick/Korver (unless they start obviously)

ROY: Morrison... fairly easily ahead of Shelden Williams, Redick, Foye, Roy... then Aldridge. Morrison will be top-scorer at Bobcats at about 19-20ppg

Rookie Bust: Bargnani... scoring 11ppg in Italy doesnt justify an NBA no.1 draft pick ???

MIP: Deron Williams... maybe Marvin

Leading Scorer: KB24... im gettin used to it.

Leading Rebounder: Dwight Howard

DPY: Camby... if he stays fit

Smokey team: New York... Heap of talent, just need to figure out how to use it.

Coach: Isiah Thomas... its easy to do better than larry brown last year, that should provide a good comparison.

1st team:
Paul
Kobe
LBJ
Dirk... but dont count out Dwight
Yao

I can't believe no one has put Duncan in the All-NBA First Team!!??!! He's healthy for the first time in a long time. Duncan on good ankles equals 25/12/5/2.5

What about Parker for point guard?

I thought about them doc, but the question is can Duncan stay healthy for the whole season? If he can watch the Spurs dominate the West and Parker should be dropping 22/5/7 for the season.

I thought about them, but remember Duncan is listed as a power forward. If I could move him to centre then he's in front of Shaq.

I'd take KG over Duncan anyday of the week as my first team power forward.

Parker, ummmm no. He's doesn't rate just because he was with Eva Longeria.... He's already lucky enough. Oh, and he's french.

If you can find the word 'health' in post #104022 I will run across the Dome floor during a timeout dressing as a drag queen, do a commando roll, do the Charlie Angels thing kung fu style and allow the Navy Seals to do whatever they want with me (within reason boys) all to a Spice Girls song........

LMFAO TR!!

Leading scorer won't be Kobe people, hear me now, he has just come back from surgery and for about 10-15 games he will put up like 27ppg or so. He will still average 30ppg but Gilbert Arenas or Allen Iverson (if he stays injury free) will lead the league in scoring.

when has injury stopped (or slowed down) kobe, 52? dont ever doubt him ever... ever again HE'S A WARRIOR - 36ppg.

And brandon roy is a very good player but even with more minutes is no where near adam morrison's level, and morrison should get about 35mpg as a starter as well.

MORRISON ROY!!!!(not Roy i mean R.O.Y)

xztatik, injury and surgery are 2 totally different things, just look at amare.

im not doubting kobes ability to score or anything man, he will just miss more games than usual and not be at 100% strength, he will still score like crazy just not win the scoring title.

xztatik, first of all, Morrison is likely to come off the bench, so he won't play 35mpg. I doubt he would even if he started.

But second, most people who actually get to see these guys play (you know...the experts) predict that it will be a battle between Roy and Randy Foye for R.O.Y. So, belive what you want, but I doubt Morrison will win the award.

morrison-32mins and 14pts on debut as 6th man, he will get a starting role as the season develops and for your info i follow college ball every year and know that morrison is clearly the best player in this years draft.
Yes Roy did well on debut with 20pts in like 41mins and dont get me wrong he'll be up there but as for Foye, i think he's even better than Roy but it doesnt look like he's gonna get the oppurtunity to be a breakout player this year if they decide to give him 15mins off the bench this season.
anyway we'll see as the season progresses i guess.

It's a brave man who takes KG over Duncan any day! TD is the no fuss, Mr Fundamental of the NBA, and will return to the 1st Team for the 26th time.

Kobe will lead the L again in scoring. Who else is taking their shots? Same deal as last year. Lamar doing the point/forward thing, Kobe dropping 30-40 points a night

I'd always take KG. Timmy is awesome, but at times when he pulls of a great play he justs doesn't respond emotionally or ever get fired up.

I like the way KG plays with his heart on his sleeve and shows emotion. Tends to fire up his teams mates and the crowd.

Watch the footage of the Carter dunk from the Sydney Olympics when he dunks on Weis, and watch KG in the background going off...

Philly for Eastern Champs. If iverson keeps healthy and iggy and korver keep doing there part its gonna be a interesting year for them. Iverson just come off 31 points with 13 assists win against Miami but with no shaq. 3 and 0 at the moment going over to Pacer land

Why did the GM pole see the Spurs as favourites to win the title? It ain't because of Tony Parker. Duncan is a players' player. Check the guy's stats from the last Finals series against New Jersey. He's back to full health. Duncan for President.
