An NBL team must be getting really desperate if they go to a guy of Eric Burdon's ability to play any type of minutes. OOps here come the north fans ;)

What would Marcus Timmons been better! Give a kid a chance and you still whinge! One of the better shooters in ABA and can play even though he is undersized. Season is gone play all the kids in SA as far as Im concerned might get a suprise!

Quite happy to see it but wow, what a change in philosophy from the start of the season. Somebody must be getting a feel for the public sentiment or trying to save their own arse.

It may seem a bit of a "what-the" move having him in the team in the first place, given his (lack of) physical size. The same could be said about Ng, and his one-on-one defence this season.
However, what both players can do is shoot the heck out of the ball. Whether or not they deserve minutes in the regular rotation, or merely step up as role players when the team needs to shoot itself out of a situation, should be the crux of this debate, imho. I think the original anonymous criticism is slightly validated in this sense, although it was junk time and the game was gone.
(On a side note, since when has Phil ever given junk-time minutes before to rookies...anyone remember 02 GF series when the 4 rookies sat the whole time? I don't think Madgen logged a minute last year, and Gerlach suited in one game?).

If Madgen played last year he wouldnt have been able to qualify for college in the US, from what I hear Phil did want to play him.
