If the Lions Go where does the league go?

If the Lions women dont field a team this year does that mean there will be a 16 game women's comp?

At least if the comp was 22 rounds the women could go to a 3 round system and have a 24 game season, 16 rounds would be a disaster.

Does anyone have the scoop on how BSA/ABA will handle this situation?

The men have permission to play this season with out there being a womens team. The club has 12 months to get their S**T together, if they can not get a womens team together for the 2008 ABL season, looks like the club will have to pull the plug.

Yeah thats what i was getting at the ABL has a rule that you need to have both a mens and womens team to be in the competition!!! But if they have permission for the year then thats a different story!!!

The ABL fixture is out and Centrals women are scheduled into it.
Go figure.
Looks like it will be a LAST MINUTE cock up rather than just a cock up.

If you're playing the Lions, you have a bye. Wouldn't that solve the problem?

if your playing centrals and it's your court in sure you could hold in internal scrimmage type game for the kiddies to watch instead of letting the time slot going to waste, maybe rest your star players and invite some star junior players to join in.

Ditch the Centrals women they're consistantly a waste of time.
Have some stand alone games instead of always a double header with the mens teams.
And have a 3 game series like in the SEABL.
Precidents for all these things in the other ABA conferences!

Ryno, can you please tell us which part of the ABA Bylaws stipulates that a club must have both men's and women's teams in the competition? I can't seem to find it.

It doesn't matter as the centrals women are out and the men are in. The women go to a 16 round season and the men stay at 18. We can talk about till next year it want make difference to this season.
