Underdogs - who do you barrack for?

Was looking at the box score from the Magic-Bulls game today and saw Darko Milicic's line: 14 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks.

Since he copped all the crap over his draft position, I've hoped he'd come good. I always look for his stats in an Orlando boxscore to see how he's doing.

Which underdogs (NBA, NBL, WNBL, etc) do you like to see succeed?

A few of mine, from the NBL:
Sutton, Ng, Cooper, Charleton, Khazzouh, Rush, Barlow, Hobba, M.Smith, Caporn, Phillip.

And NBA:
Milicic, Bargnani, Calderon, Bynum, Walton, Paul.

Brevin Knight I have followed since his College days. He does actually do pretty good considering he gets no exposure at all.

10ppg (fg @ 42%, FT @ 85%), 6.7apg, 1.6spg, 2.8rpg and only 2.7 turn overs per game.

Is he perhaps the Dmac of the NBA but not as entertaining?

Excellent topic.

For me:

NBA:

Milicic - was sad to see the Pistons trade him, has the potential
Bynum - Also has potential to be a monster

plus numerous others including: Walton, Prince, Bargnani, Maxiell.

In the NBL:

Sutton, Ninja, Khazzouh, M Smith, Nash (just for you Squid =]), Williamson, Rush, Barlow.

definately for me prince, does everything he is asked of by his coach and perhaps is the best defensive stopper on his team right now. I still have tingles down my spine when he had that massive block on Reggie Millers layup back in 04 conference finals series DAMMMMMM. He also stood up so much during the conference series against miami last year when no one else could score he was hitting unbelieveble shots. Future all star definately if he countinues with his hard work.

Nocioni - a (relatively) untalented scumbag who gets way more out of his physical gifts than is humanly possible... Just a joy to watch a guy like that who will do anything and everything for his paycheck - refreshing in this day and age of NBA prima donnas...

BTW in this case "scumbag" is a term of endearment...

KingJames, yes, add Brevin Knight to my list. And Vukona to my NBL list - I am taking over the presidency of the Vukona fan club.

NBL
Maestro mainly cos we recruited him!

NBA
Schensher (If he ever gets a fulltime gig)
Bogut to add that double double consistency to his game and push allstar status
Barbosa may not be an underdog as such, but in his four years in PHX he has risen his game each year. My candidate for 6th man this year!

Milicic. I was actually glad when the pistons traded him because first of all after being such a high draft pick they sat his ass on the bench and with the bigs they have on their roster he never really looked like he'd get the kind of minutes he deserves. I also barrack for Wayne Simeon. He was an NCAA all american in the same class as Bogut, Warrick, Chris Paul. He's been sitting pine for a couple of years now.

There's always the hope that Forman will live up to expectations. :-)

For me:

Andrew Bynum
Luke Walton
TJ ford

And I know he's not an underdog anymore, but I've been a massive fan of Josh Smith since day 1 and always thought he'd do well.

I quite like Delonte West and Rajon Rondo too

Chris Paul without a doubt. He will finish with five NBA MVP's before he retires.
