Been announced as one of foxtels callers along with clinton grybas.
This opens up a whole new opportunity for some great cliches, but im sure he can adapt some old favourites.
I look forward to Welsh kicking a goal with his "non preferred left" foot from the "land of plenty" getting a "user friendly roll" of the ball as it dribbles through to give the crows a "6 point buffer".

I am expecting the following changes:
'two pieces of the iron' becomes 'collects a piece of the woodwork'
'Former League All Star and Hall of Famer' becomes 'Former All-Australian'
'Non preferred left hand' becomes 'Non preferred left foot/leg'
'Regular sparring partner Steve Carfino' becomes 'Regular sparring partner Clinton Grybas/Dennis Commetti'
The following calls will remain:
'did it ilegally' will stay (similar to Eddie Everywhere, That was holding the ball but it wasn't called!!!)
'Running out of Real Estate' as he is chased down by Glen Archer.
75 metres out ball spiralling through the air 'That's from the carpark'.
Ben Cousins, 'He's leading them a merry dance at the moment' (no, I don't mean the officers at the RBT)
Brendon Fevola from 75 metres out lines up, 'Usually a reliable conveyance'.
'As the shot clock rolls in to single digits' they have a shot clock now in the AFL

Clinton grybas didn't do football until foxfooty come into being. Now that foxtel (fox footy wasn't part of foxsports) has afl please can clinton grybas make a comeback to NBL.
a bit off the topic but what do afl commentators mean when they say "day" and "night" premierships.

A "day" flag is the BIG ONE played on that one day in September.
A "night" flag at present is known as the NAB Cup, previously the Wizard, Ansett and whatever else they could think of for a trophy that is played in the pre-season competition.

Could this mean Fox won't broadcast the NBL next season???
Give Casey something else to do???
well the fox deal for the nbl has now finished so it will be interesting to see what happans.

Remember the NBL in not on as the same time as AFL so it doesn't necessarily mean and end to Casey's basketball commentary. It could simply be as job as well as NBL rather than instead of.
I hope Fox running out of contract leads to more NBL on Free TV.

Oh and as far as famous Casey quotes in the AFL goes, we'll probably see:
"Cousins get upstairs for the specky"
"McLeod discombobulates Fremantle's defence and kicks the goal"
