Sixers vs Wildcats - Burston Injury

Sixers vs Perth tonight and one quite injured Centre playing.

Burston need's a calcaneal osteotomy. Burston has chronically bent-in (varus) ankle joints and tendons on the inner side of his ankle are all torn (the peroneal tendons.

The Wildcats will nurse him through the season, hoping to get 25 effective minutes and wait till end of the season for surgery.

I can not beleive they are playing him through what sounds very bad injuries.......let him have surgery now and get into rehab asap, sign Moore when his is released by the Crocs as his replacement.

He is risking his ability to return to the league by playing with this type of injury.

And at, what, 21-22 years of age? The league needs as many good local centres as possible, so hopefully this decision doesn't bring a premature end to his career.

This kind is a kind of selfishness on the Perth organisation to do this, no surprises with Scott Fisher at the helm though! Get the kid the surgery he needs and just accept that injuries do occur in sports.

I don't like Burtson but at the same time for the sake of another decent Australian kid coming up through the ranks, take a seat now, before it is to late, and you turn in to a what could have been!

By the way, with Wollongong losing tonight, this game is huge for the Sixers if they want to stay in the top 3! COME ON YOU SIXERS!
