Portland Trailblazers rookie Brandon Roy has been announced as the NBA's Rookie of the year.
Roy lived up to it, leading all rookies with averages of 16.8 points, 4.0 assists and 35.4 minutes in 57 games, and on Wednesday he was awarded the NBA's Eddie Gottlieb Trophy.
He received 127 out of 128 first-place votes (638 points) from a panel of sports writers and broadcasters.

Don't think there was ever any doubt about Roy getting this. Well deserved even with the injury which cost him about 20 games.
I'm still a fan of Rudy Gay.

Must be a little disappointing that a guy who only played about 70% of the Games won Rookie of the year.
I would have guessed that it was unusual, I also guess that Mike Miller in 2000-01 was the last ROY with as little fanfare and impact on the competitiion.

Apparently it was the guy that calls the Raptors games - voted for Bargnani who probably wasn't a shocking vote if you were being lenient.
