Bruton to miss NZ qualifying series

CJ Bruton has come out of hospital after having an operation to remove bone spurs from his foot.

His recovery of eight to ten weeks will see him miss the Boomers series against New Zealand in August.

The Boomers will also be missing Andrew Bogut. Basketball Australia have indicated that there are a few contenders for the starting point guard spot in Bruton's place:

The Australia Post Boomers will undergo two training camps and tours to China and Europe ahead of the qualifying series against New Zealand in August.

It is expected that Cairns Taipans Stephen Black and Darnell Mee, along with Baylor University's Aaron Bruce and AIS star Patrick Mills, will now vie for the starting point guard spot.

Dmac? Seriously, that's a massive blow, given the importance of this series. Let's hope Nielson, Andersen and Anstey are all available.

apparently everyone other then bogut and bruton are... so we will have a pretty strong side.... anstey, schensch, anderson, neilson, mckinnon, newley, darnell mee, sounds good so far... just hope that the chemistry doesnt fall apart withgout bruton.... but mee is easily as good as him.
