NBL or Europe for Newley

ADELAIDE 36ers fans are a step closer to seeing favourite son Brad Newley in an NBL uniform in 2007-08, the star off-guard ruling out an NBA shot this season.

Invited back by Houston head coach Rick Adelman to play again in next year's summer league, Newley now must decide whether to play with the 36ers this season or try Europe. The NBA's Development League is not an option.

Newleys status in Europe would be as an import, therefore most teams would not be willing to use up one of their import spots on a 22 year old skinny white guy from Oz. You will find those spots go to straight out of college bigs, or NBA left overs etc...

If he isn't taken by a division 2 or 3 european club, he will be here for all of SA to enjoy. And that sounds exciting. Go Sixers!!
