Hopefully with the new marina housing development more kids will move into the area and more will want to play basketball for their local West Adelaide B/Ball Club. I dont know what the projections are for the influx of population into the area - but a new stadium wouldnt go astray either - how about it BSA? There must be somewhere at the Port that has some land where a new 4 court stadium could be built!

This is a little off topic but can somebody answer this question - do any clubs have guidelines, passed on to the coaches each year as to what skills should be attained/taught to the players through the various age groups? e.g by u/16's should be able to understand screening principles etc. etc.
Therefore the coach must incorporate drills/teaching which cover these skills?
Or is it purely left up to the coaches of the age groups as to what is taught?

West are on a 'rebuilding' program for the girls after a few years in the wilderness. a conscious effort was made to have teams in Div1 in all grades. Unfortunately this made some teams 'cannon-fodder' for the dominant teams and has led to some girls leaving the club.
Girls looking for a game are very welcome to contact the club via the web-site and address to basketball manager.
A very strong coaching panel has been appointed for this year and who knows, in a few years both girls and boys will both be leaders

I'm glad that West is making an effort to rebuild the girls program. The lack of depth in the girl's competition beyond the top four or five clubs is of great concern. West have certainly been struggling from the 16s down in the girls.

Good Luck!
