was having a discussion with a friend of mine last night about who would have the youngest starting five in the ABL....the main team we were tossing up were
centrals, southern, and south.

Brad Gerlach is 19.. used to go to my school... i seriously think southern have the youngest starting 5 in both women and men??
Luke Hoban from Tigers should/will be a starter displacing one of the mentioned - he is 22
so clearly the youngest ABL starting 5 are the Southern Tigers

The 1st 5 for the last part of last yr was normally. Clausen (17), Elliot (17), Harvey (22), Atkins (20), Clayton - hes at the age where its not my business to give his age :)
For what its worth, the average is less than southern.
oh ok well does anyone have any thing else to say..? maybe about another club?
The average age of Centrals mens was 20.8 to be precise. And the Women would have been even lower than that.
i would of thought it would of been the tigers both ways? but i may be wrong?

Woodville have a young line up at the moment............
Cam wilson- 24
Gary Birmingham- 19
Mark Fuller- 20
Zane Reeves- 18
Nathan Baggot- 21
I think Southern in both men and women would have to be the youngest.
Women:
Birbeck - 23
Markham - 20
Graham - 19
Peddle - 18
Nelson - 18
And the men are as Shane wrote previously!

woodville would have to be the youngest starting 5 and overall team. because we lose Baggott i think at the end of this season. i think the average age is about 19

what about the oldest abl team???
i think woodville and north would have had a tight battle last year...north mckay, hawkes, hambour, groves, and one other....woodville bradley, whitmore, ng, vandenburgh, puddifoot....probably north by the looks of it....

i would have thought forestville with pero and rees would have been the oldest

Pero was 26 last yr. I think the oldest would be Woodville, North and Norwood.

Probably not relevant to the conversation but Hoban will start for Southern and must have lost at least 20kg and has been added to the Academy squad (No, I am not Mrs. Hoban!)

The southern women have the youngest starting 5 and the overall youngest team/squad...i think the oldest in the whole squad is 23 and a big majority of them are in u21s.... thats what i heard anyway

For the silly season, wouldn't North men come close? South's average would be about 24/25 so it's not us!
