Congratulations to ex South/NCT Point Guard Danyle Pearce who was selected in the AFL Rookie draft by the Power today.
The little fella was very sharp in his first session on the track this afternoon, and will be travelling with the rest of the team to Tasmania for the premiers pre season camp starting tomorrow.

What is the difference with todays draft and the one where guys like Monfries, Eckerman, Wood and Co got picked up?

mainly a rookie draft today...so pearce and the other guys will only get put on the rookie list, not actually a full salary, and not actually eligible to play an afl game whilst on the rookie list. althought there were 7 or 8 selections in the preseason draft today which is mainly for guys recycled from other clubs to get drafted again.

Well done to Danyle. He certainly was an exciting basketballer and did quite well for Sturt in SANFL from what I saw of last season.
Does anyone know if Scott McMahon got picked up? He's an ex Forestville/SA Country junior.
