Comment heard in Taipans vs Bullets Match

Cafino talking about how Steven Black was getting a decent reception against his former team, he also mentioned not like you (talking to Bradtke) in Adelaide... Did anyone hear that? What do you all think of that?

Was just referencing how Bradtke would get booed by some fans when he played back here.

Didn't think anything of the comment, but do think it was unfair for Bradtke to be booed in the circumstances.

Unfair? The 36ers released him to play overseas because he gave his word that he would come back & play for them. He shafted the club & destroyed us every time we played the tigers. I never personally booed him but can see why other fans did.

Players thrive on this kind of stuff over the years. The first year it might be a bit of a shock but after that first game where they know they arnt going to be cheered their prepared and ready for it. Just adds a little something to the game and the history and fan/player interaction which is all good imo.

The cases are similar. Ingles performed a bit of shafting himself. Hope he is enjoying his time with the South Dragons.

Ingles' case and Bradtke's case are very different.

Ingles made no promises to the club either verbal or written. The sixers also never offered him a great contract nor a spot in the ten player team.

Bradtke was released from his BINDING Non Release sixers contract to play overseas on the assurance he would return to the sixers when he came back.

Sixers took the man at his word and gave him the opportunity to earn money to secure his future. He repaid the club's generosity by shafting them and signing with the Tigers upon his return.

Hardly similar cases.

Surely importing players of the ilk of Paris McCurdy and Jeff Brown made you forget about a hack named Bradtke?
