Pioneers lose 2 to 36ers Academy

Have just heard that the Sixers Academy team beat the Pioneers twice over the weekend.
Did anyone see these games? who were standout players for the Academy and what does the Pioneers new import look like?

Any info on the games would be appreciated.

The 36ers Academy defeated the Mount Gambier Pioneers 101 to 98 on Saturday night at the Icehouse in an entertaining game.
The Pioneers showed great spirit to get within 3 points after being down by 16, and a half court shot from Dallas Jeffree on the buzzer narrowly missed sending the game into overtime.
Rory Craddock and Luke Mapunda were outstanding for the Academy with 24 and 22 points respectively while Anthony Spadavecchia and Zane Reeves chipped in with 14 points apiece.
Tom McKenzie battled above his size to finish with 9 points and played well defensively on the Pioneers bigs while Brad Bungey was the teams leading rebounder with 15 boards.
For the Pioneers, Dallas Jeffree proved a handful with a game high 31 points and Jason Sedlock was his usual reliable self with 21.
Parham showed some signs around the basket with 14 points and will be better for the run after only arriving in the country on Thursday.
The 36ers Academys' fitness, defensive intensity and perimeter shooting proved too much in Sundays re-match prevailing 83 to 71.
Leif Burdon was the game MVP, hitting 6 fom 7 from the 3 point line to finish with 25 points and was ably supported by Luke Mapunda, Chris Molitor and Brad Bungey.
Tom Cioffi and Phil Brown were momentum changers off the bench and provided great minutes, and a 43 to 27 rebound advantage was decisive.
Jason Sedlock was best for the Pioneers with 30 points and Dallas Jeffree and Chris Mason provided solid support.
Two high intensity, physical games and a fantastic way for the 36ers Academy to wrap up their games. Congatulations to all involved.

(Mod: Thanks for the write-up. Will be appreciated by those who couldn't see the game themselves.)

Jarrad and all those cynics out there. I think you need to remember that the pioneers season hasn't started yet, and that it was the first game the boys played together as the team they have for the season. As someone mentioned above, the acadamy boys have been playing together and know each other well. Considering it was the first run, I think the Pioneers boys did extremly well, and the academy boys did a fantastic job. They were both very good, high intensity games, so if you are going to be critical maybe you should actually attend the games before you do, and dont make comments based on the scores.

The Pioneers performed extremely well considering Tristan Parham only arrived Thursday and was then affected by a bout of food poisoning. Daniel Peacock was a bit of a surprise for the Pioneers giving them some added depth.
A new import point guard who arrives this weekend will make the world of difference allowing Stratty to go to the bench and giving the Pioneers a very strong 8 players.
Just a bit more court time together and the Pioneers have a lot going for them this season.
This weekend they head to Adelaide to face Norwood and Forestville from what Ive heard. Should be a pretty tough test.
If anyone gets out to see the games, us down here in the South East would love to here from them.
