Most of the players, except for Ben Knight, have now left Singapore to go play basketball somewhere else until the next NBL season.

Rod Grizzard had a great first match for BNEI HASHARON in the Premier Legue in Israel with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Grizzard is expected to come back . No news about Helms but keep an eye on his Myspace site.

Some of the young players are in New Zealand and Australia with Hayden Allen playing with Auckland Heat ( together with Oscar Forman ), John Fitzgerald with the Mackay Meteors in the QABL, Shane McDonald and Dave Donaldson both with the Nunawading Spectres ,

Brief update

Shane McDonald had a good start in his first match for Nunawading Spectres playing 40 minutes , 25 pts and 13 assists. You can follow Shane and Dave Donaldson ( 6 pts and 9 rebounds) by going to the SEABL league on the sportingpulse.com website.

Chris Cameron is said to have joined Waverley playing in the the BigV competition.

Has anyone some news re Blogoj and Helms ?

Maybe it is time for Chuck Harminson to stop talking because not all newspapers understand what he says.

And here is part 2 - just to see how much of a mess can come out of some journalists taking a single sentence out of an hour long speech . Boti Nagy any day please.

Latest news is that Helms is back in Detroit but not yet playing and Janev in Sydney but will soon be playing somewhere - so watch out for him somewhere in OZ and Kiwi land.

Some more low level stuff .. Remember the assistant coach from the first season ...well, well...Vickerman becomes Tall Blacks assistant coach.....

Will the Slingers add any new coaches to the team of Gordie McLeod and Neo Beng Siang in 2008/09 ?

Was already Breakers assistant this season just past. Is he a chance at a future head coaching positioning in the NBL?

In his 4th game for Bnei Hasharon Rod Grizzard started and played 24 minutes , 11 pts , 4 rbs - and importantly he continued to have 100% FT with 3 out of 3.So after 4 matches in Israel Rod's stats are

MPG 30.2 compared to 40.5 with the Slingers 2007/08
PPG 14.2 vs 19.4
2PT 52.9% vs 47.6
3PT 56.2% vs 30.4
FT 100 % vs 76.3
RPG 3.8 vs 7.9
TOpg 1.5 vs 3.6
Fouls 3.2 vs 3.4

Next match against Galil Elyon which is bottom in the league while Bnei is now 2nd.

Update from Kiwi nbl league.

"Hayden Allen finished with 27 points, seven assists, three steals and just one turnover to help Harbour to a 93-82 win over the Otago Nuggets on Thursday .

( Oscar Foreman Forman shot nine-of-11 from the field and had 23 points in just 21 minutes as he was used sparingly due to a niggling Achilles injury )"
