2 Week's wait for clubs with undecided future

What is people's opinion on players from clubs such as Brisbane and Sydney having to wait 2 weeks after the grand final to talk to other clubs. Wouldn't the fact that their club is going through an uncertain future exempt the players from this rule. Once an owner has stated he will be selling the club, surely the club loses the ability to hold onto their players before the 2 weeks are up. Its not the player's fault the club is in difficulty so why should they risk their future waiting around 2 weeks? I don't think that because there is going to be new owner that they automatically have first option to the existing players.

If you believe that clubs are waiting until 2 weeks after the finals serious to talk to players you will no doubt be looking forward to the Easter Bunny's visit on Sunday.

Nobody is waiting 2 weeks all the available players of interest have already been spoken to.There is no one in the front office at NBLto keep an eye on this Holmes for example is talking with the 36ers of course nothig official mind you.If Goorj goes to the Dragons you dont think they havent already spoken with Kendal,Worthington and Smith and so it goes on.Singapore would of spoken with Ng or at least let it be known they were very interested so he will do nothing until the 2 weeks is up same as Holmes etc.So regardless of who buys who the players agents have been working for the last couple of months so dont worry the sort after players are probably commited already

I know there is the probability that clubs and players are already in discussions, but according to the NBL rules, no contracts can be signed until the 2 weeks are up. For argument sake, you could say that so many things can happen in that 2 weeks before pen is put to paper. That is both the players and the clubs have the ability to change their mind. No one is absolutely secure until a contract in signed and the waiting period is there to be adhered to.

And what is secure before that any way? Goorjian was still under contract. Bruton was still under contract when he left the Kings. Wright still has a contract, etc.

The deals started getting done a long time ago.
