Todd Goldstein (ex AIS)

This 19 y.o was in basetball AIS but now playing AFL with NM Kangaroos. If he stuck wif ball could he have made NBL/europe??

Was in same squad as AJ Ogilvy etc.

Scott Pendlebury from Collingwood was in the same boat - went to AIS for 1 week on a basketball scholarship and then quit and decided to pursue footy.

Can play footy in oz for good money... its not that suprising that basketball looses thaese young guys. you can add Kurt Tippet from the crows to the list if you like.

It shouldn't be about the money. You guys keep going on about the AFL wins out time and time again just becasue they can put more money on the table. You should choose your career path on the love of whatever you gonna do. I would pick basketball any day.

Todd had only played school footy before joining Oakleigh ahead of the national draft so its hard to believe love of footy was the motivating factor behind his decision to leave basketball just as it was becoming a success for him.

Less politics, greater sense of team. Easy decision for honest players who get sick and tired of seeing the bullshit that goes on in basketball circles.
