CP3 vs D-Will- lets put it to bed...

Two great PG's but i know who i'd pick, not even a second thought. D-Will in a heartbeat.
I don't think there is a GM or coach out there that would disagree. He is everything Paul is, but bigger, stronger and will prove to be more durable in the long run.

Some big statements considering Paul is one of 3 or 4 players being talked about for league MVP and Williams is not.

"I don't think there is a GM or coach out there that would disagree." - I'd like to know your source on this one!

"He is everything Paul is" - not according to his stats this season or over his career.

"and will prove to be more durable in the long run" - only time will tell.

Allow me to re-butt.

Since i clearly said "I don't think", my source is me.

Stats in basketball have a margin of error based on the team playing style. Paul is getting 1 bucket and 1 dime more a game. Hardly massive.

I'd also like to point out that i'm a huge Paul fan too, i just don't think he is a better option to run a team than Deron.

I'll take CP3. I love the man and his skills. Yeah he drives to the basketball a lot for points. But he can find the pass too. Ask Tyson Chandler who receives some beauties.

D-Will is a nice player too and stronger than CP3. But I'll take the little man.

Whilst at the present time CP3 is the better player I'd actually go with Deron.

I feel Deron can run a team a little better than CP3 in a half court set. Having a coach like Sloan will have that effect. Deron still puts up impressive numbers and as mentioned above, one basket and one assist per game isn't all that much.

As they say in the porn industry, a couple of extra inches makes all the difference.

I also want to see how CP3 goes during a tough playoff series. Deron has been there, Paul hasn't.

For me it's Williams, bigger and stronger, has led his team through the play-off grind.

Love em both, and it will be a real interesting thing to see CP3 in the finals. Deron grew so much in last years finals i wonder if Paul is as well suited to playoff games...

This debate will be going on for the next 10-15 years . The reason is they are two terrific stud PG's .

Big fans of both with CP3 having the edge in court coverage , game impact , defense and FT %. Deron is more a facilitator and has the advantage in strength , half court sets and delivers a slightly better 3 ball . Over a seven game series head to head it would be very interesting to see who comes out on top .

Chris Paul with combined 5.7 ass/stl to TO ratio . phenomenal !
Deron Williams has a 3.4 ass/stl to TO ratio .

Who will be the first to win an MVP award ? we may find out this year ( lockstock i will collect that $ 100) . Will either win a championship ? you would think so and multiple .

Nash isn't leeting go of the title just yet - has 18 assists with 7 minutes left in the Denver game

Don't think you can give the defensive nod to paul just because he gets more steals... people can shoot right over him on a switch... Deron can still cover a 2 and maybe a smaller 3..

i like deron but my friend disagrees. if CP# wins mvp this year and his team goes further than deron s team in the playoffs then oviously id be wrong

Why are they compared so much anyway. Yeah they were drafted together but play two different styles. A better comparison is Paul and Parker, and Deron and Nash

I would just like to say, that in a thread entitled 'CP3 vs D-Will- lets put it to bed...', I love it how the OP tells us that one is better than the other, without any actual reasoning behind it.....

This argument will probably never be over 'til they both finish there careers. But really, I don't see the point. We, as fans, are lucky enough to get two great PG's, playing in the same conference, at the same time. We should just enjoy the ride and appreciate them both.

My vote (as I posted before) does go to Paul though. What he has done this year has been nothing short of incredible (and he was the ROY), but both players are great and should be for years to come.
