Bogut records a triple-double!

In today's Bucks vs Celtics game, the Bucks took the Celtics into OT before going down by just 3 points.
Bogut recorded 15 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocks and a huge 10 turnovers! That makes it his first ever triple-double, albeit one he would rather not have!

You have to be good to get a triple double with turnovers though.

Still a pretty impressive game by a guy who was being branded "Bobust" only last year by some nobs on here...

Sorry Luc and Chris - but he has backed up his talk...

he's a good player but he hasn't (and may never) fully live up to the expectations of a no.1 draft pick. Nowhere near as much of a bust a Bargnani (well, so far) and Kwame Brown.

When a good number of top picks don't live up to expectations, is he really that far off the pace? I think he's been quite solid.

You can forgive the turnovers when he scored and rebounded, plus added a few blocks and steals. Should be the MVP for the Bucks.

Big men always take a few years to develop. Bogut is finally, in the 2nd half of this season, beginning to take off, he will only get better. He will certainly justify his selection. Paul, Williams and Ellis are the only players I would consider more valuable than him from his draft year.

Any1 still calling him a bust is clearly an ignorant knob and hasn't seen what he has been doing the last few months. This guy cannot be compared to Kwame Brown at all.

i think its more like he was selected above where he should have been, maybe at pick 3. He is no bust but has taken a while to get it together.

Bogut is no where near the bust Kwame or Bargnani are.

Remember that at the time of the selection, Bogut was what the Bucks were in desperate need of. They didn't need a point guard as they already had a lottery pick PG in TJ Ford. Marvin Williams was too much of a risk. He was all potential.

At the time Bogut was the player most thought off as being the most ready for the NBA. He took out the majority of player awards for the year and was at the time considered the best player in college basketball.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Bogut improve to 17-19ppg along with 10rpg and chuck in some assists and blocks to those numbers. If he improves his free throws he would be close to that range now.

The sooner the Bucks trade the chuckers in Redd and Mo, and get a real PG and SG then Bogut's numbers will increase and team harmony will be much better.

Paul and Williams were the only 2 from the draft who looking back warranted no 1 selection. To be a bust don't you have to fall short of your expectations coming in? If I recall not one single person believed Bogut would quick become a susperstar despite his predicted no 1 drafting. They had TJ Ford at the point and were looking to sure up what they thought was a roster that could make a run at the east. IMO Bogut has matched if not slightly exceeded his expectations coming in, so therefore cannot be considered a bust. Lebron and Bogut don't have the same expectations because they were drafted the same pick. Evaluating players on purely that is just idiotic.

Andrew Bogut is a draft bust though.

he's first round material, but shouldn't be in the top 15.

FYI .. Triple double where turnovers are the third category is known as a "Triple Bumble" ...

dafd, teams can only draft players who are eligible and have declared for the draft. If you can name 13 players (Paul and Williams of course) more worthy of top 15 selection who were eligible for that draft go ahead im up for a laugh

dafd, please explain why Bogut isn't a lottery pick and how he is considered a bust. Please tell me 14 players out of that draft that are better than Bogut.

There were only two other players from that draft that would today overtake Bogut as the number 1 pick. CP3 and Deron Williams, and at the time the Bucks were not in the market for a PG.

The only other center of any note from that draft is Andrew Bynum, and at the time of the draft he was a teenager with zero college experience and there is no chance that he was ever going number one.

If the 2005 draft was done today you'd see a very different top 10, but Bogut doesn't fall out of the top 5.

1: Paul
2: Williams
3: Bynum
4: Bogut
5: Ellis
6: Lee
7: Granger
8: Marvin Williams
9: Felton
10: Webster

DAFD -

Chris Paul ------ future hall of famer
Deron Williams ------ ditto
Raymond Felton ---- debateable
Martel Webster ----- dissapointing so far .
Charlie V ------ wrong
Andrew Bynum ----- very bright future
Rashad McCants ----- minnesota would take bogut
Danny Granger ----- STUD
Hakim Warrick ------ Memphis would take bogut
Nate Robinson ------ wrong again donk
David lee ------- UNDERRATED
Fransisco Garcia ------ wrong
Jason Maxiell ------ wrong once more
Linas Kleiza ----- solid but no way
Julius Hodge (nah just jk, Sean May). ---- game over dipshit .

In summary i think u would find that PAUL , WILLIAMS , BYNUM , GRANGER , and possibly LEE and maybe FELTON would be picked over BOGUT .

There is no way he can be a called a bust . He is playing on a selfish team and yet has improved every year in many facets of the game barring FT% . back in your box dafd or is that caravan you hillbilly .

Thankyou for the laugh dafd! If you think I am biased because im australian then you would care to know that i would put:
Raymond Felton
Martell Webster
Andrew Bynum
Rashad McCants
Danny Granger
Hakim Warrick
Nate Robinson
Jason Maxiell
Linas Kleiza

..all above Bogut in terms of my favourite players and would enjoy watching anyone of them becoming an allstar more than Bogut. However when it comes to evaluating their value on an NBA court Bogut gets the nod sorry mate.

Yeah, I rate Lee highly. He's a constant double double that plays with energy and hustle. He'll never be an all star or stud, but he's constant.

Over players like Frye, Diogu, Korolev, and the majority of others in the 2005 draft then Lee is a top 10 pick. It's debatable over which exact pick in the top 10 as picks that high usually relate to roster issues and team needs whilst players at the lower end usually are selected as 'best player available'. There wouldn't be a team in the NBA that couldn't use David Lee and the majority of trades involving the Knicks tend to have the name Lee involved.

IMNSHO , When watching the knicks David lee is the only bright spot and is fundamentally their best player .
Sure Crawford and Z-Bo put up some nice numbers , Little dog Nate Robinson is full of excitement and gusto and Q-Rich can get hot but all the players just mentioned have major flaws in their game .
Lee would be welcomed into any team in the league , no doubt .

Could do a lot worse than throw Lee the ball more as well. Shoots at a great clip (look at last year's rookie game) rebounds extremely well, hustles and plays with a lot of heart!

Knicks can only wish they had at least one other player that could play with heart/passion...
