Street ball in Adelaide?

Hey just moved to Adelaide, just wondering if there is a place to go for some street basketball, maybe some pick-up games?

On Saturday afternoon there are 4 rings on Wakefield Street (just East of Hutt Street) where around 100 Asian play. When I walked down for a bit of a walk I could say there was not 1 of them who had real game (ie I wouldn't pick any of them to play in any team in reserves or even div 3 men), but they play hard.

I reckon you're talking about the CBC outdoor courts attached to there oval.

Still it's appreciated you pointing this place out.

I reckon Mile End near the railyards has potential for a large basketball court.

MSF could help lobby for it too.

I think you're right.. I walked down the other day to just get some shots up and had no chance. Scoped the competition for a while and realised it wasn't worth it..

The more courts up the better - the councils' should be encouraging outdoor activity as much as possible especially given the current day problems!

I've played at those courts a few times, and they do play hard. Lots of short, quick guys trying to be Iverson. They do get quite physical and there is no chance of a foul ever being called, so you get smacked in the head quite a bit.

Great opportunity to get to the low block for a shooter like me. Hook shots all day.

We need more open spaces, more courts, tournaments etc.

Council should help a bit considering all the issues of today.

Friday nights during school terms at Campbelltown Rec Centre - 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start, $6 to play. Bring a team or join one when you rock up. All ages welcome.
