Aaron Bruce to play for Horsham Div 3

Was checking out the basketball scene online and jus noticed on the Big V website that Aaron Bruce is set to play with his two brothers this weekend for Horsham in Division 3!

Would be really interesting at just Div 3 level - he is way above that! Apparently he wants to play with his brothers - te firsttime they would have all played on the same team together.

Any word on what he will do next year?

Both the Tiger and Dragons look set with there numbers and he may have missed the bus with either side.

Perth maybe?

Aaron Bruce may not be interested in playing hard. He may be playing for a Div 3 team for the purposes of an "easy training" game.

I think the Dragons would still be very interested.

We still have 3 roster spots and 24 points left (i'm not counting Ebi yet).

More importantly, we don't have a PG yet! So he would be at the top of our non-import list i'd think!

Would be a great thing to see him playing with his brothers. I saw one (shane i think) play at the Country Cup this year and he is going to be an absolute gun!

Aaron has apparently come to clubs with high demands for court time and money. Most teams have already shied well away from him. 6ers, I know, spoke to him about a month ago and ended up with no interest.

I would think that the Dragons and Tigers would be the only 2 left willing to spend the dollars. In fact, his timing is awful......The traditionally big spending teams have either filled their rosters (NZ) or gone for a more conservative approach due to finances (Sydney, Brisbane). It's turning slowly to the clubs advantage as far as contracts go.

Goorjian's recent dig in the paper about "returning players asking ridiculous amounts" was, I'd suggest, aimed squarely between the eyes of Mr Bruce.

Perth already have backup guards (if Caporn is signed - is he?) and would be reluctant to spent a starting spot on him, IMO.

Brisbane could use him but have Gibson.

What about Cairns, given that Mee lost most of last season to injury?

i think bruce would be a good pickup for the kings...sharing the backcourt with kendall.

although maybe there isn't enough scoring there. but this seems like a solid rotation:

1 bruce/IMPORT (ala Dontaye)
2 kendall/carter
3 saville/tovey
4 IMPORT/hinder
5 mottram/crosswhite

although they may struggle for points. the kings need sav to be back to his best, and a big-time scorer at the 4 spot to get by with this sort of rotation
