NBL All Stars head out into the community

Townsville's community will receive a number of benefits from the influx of superstars from the Philips Championship next week as the best of the best from the National Basketball League (NBL) gathers in the twin cities for the McDonald's 2005 NBL All-Star Game

The game, which will be held at the Townsville Entertainment Centre ('the Swamp') on Wednesday January 19, is the showcase event of the Philips Championship and will be a who's who of basketball.

The benefits to Townsville however won't just be on the court, as the McDonald's All-Stars will be involved in a number of community initiatives in the area on the days surrounding the game.

Amongst other appearances, the McDonald's All-Stars will visit the Townsville Hospital and Ronald McDonald House to cheer up seriously ill children. A full list of the McDonald's All-Stars community activities is below.

Media wishing to be present at any of these events are asked to confirm their attendance with Danielle Cassels at the McDonald's Crocodiles on 07 4778 4222 or Marc Howard at the NBL office on 0419 512 139 as soon as possible.
