NH: Which actor have you watched the most?

Shorty and Bertron in the office devised some sort of challenge over lunch recently to work out which actor's movies they've seen the most of.

For Bertron, Johnny Depp is a clear leader with 21. Shorty is a fan of Samuel L. Jackson and Sylvester Stallone (18 movies from each).

My leaderboard has Jackson with 22, tied with Bruce Willis (also 22), followed by Morgan Freeman (19), Robert DeNiro (19), Tom Cruise (ugh, 17), Sean Connery (17 - a few Bond movies), Brad Pitt (16) and Harrison Ford (16). Julia Roberts might be the top female with 12 - can't think of another one that might top that.

Hit IMDB.com and search away. Watch out for Video Game (VG) releases in the filmography lists, as well as appearances on TV shows - neither count. Major speaking roles can be accepted.

Everyone who can participate in this without referencing porn gets a virtual cookie.

Anyone who's knocked off the Rockys and Rambos is probably going to have Sly feature prominently. Ouch.

Without tallying (that would take all day)

De Niro - due to all the mafia/gangster movies and he is in all of them.

Morgan Freeman - if he is in it, I will watch it.

Stallone/ Schawrzenegger - What can I say, action movies in the 80s had to involve one of these guys.

Willis/ Seagal - see above, but 90's.

Chicks would have to be from Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, and Demi Moore (Striptease on mute is a great movie).

Sadly I think Tom Hanks with 23 might be up the top for me. Can't believe I have seen Joe vs The Volcano and The Bonfire of the Vanities. I did work in a video store for 3 years though.

Did some random ones just to see how many I got - I note that I have not watched many movies in the last 3 years

Bruce Willis 22
Sylvester Stallone 22
Samuel L Jackson 22
Eddie Murphy 21
Tom Cruise 21
Arnold Schwarzenegger 19
Matt Damon 18
Mel Gibson 18
Will Smith 18 (think I have seen every movie he has ever done - don't know how that happened)
Robert De Niro 15
Harrison Ford 15
Brad Pitt 14
Adam Sandler 13
Mark Wahlberg 11
Leonardo DiCaprio 9
Edward Norton 9
Jack Nicholson 8

Just cos he is in everything Australian - Bill Hunter 5

The world's greatest actor - Ralph Macchio 5

The method I used was picking actors I've probably seen a few times and running through their filmographies.

TR, Nicolas Cage can f*ck off and die. So furious I can't even remember the third item on my Triumvirate of Crapness Sh*tlist, after the bored, sorry, band 'Something for Kate'.

Arnie - I've seen everything he's done.

Van Damme - Bloodsport is still the best martial arts showdown movie of all-time. (Sorry SVD - you obviously have a soft spot for Karate Kid - "Sweep the Leg!)

Seagal has a stellar run in the 90's. You could actually see him getting fatter during the filming of Hard to Kill. Best Seagal Movie Title goes to his 2007 realease "Today You Die" - awesome. Close second is "Half Past Dead" - you can just imagine a bad guy checking his watch, seeing the time and copping a knife to the throat.

Samuel L Jackson tops my list at 20.

I think you would be interested to find out who is in the most movies that you own - might surpise you. I looked recently and was surprised to find that I owned 7 Brian Cox movies. You are probably saying Brian who?

I own the same number of Samuel L Jackson movies...
