Phil Jackson's favourite athlete

Might surprise some to know that MJ or Kobe weren't the greatest athletes Phil Jackson ever coached:

Playing defence and rebounding tires you out sure but if you aren't a factor on the offensive end and not even looking to be then surely you are more likely to be fresher at the 48 minute mark than someone who's taking the ball to the rack, running off picks etc and generally getting involved offensively.

It's alot harder to dominate the game on the defensive end opposed to the offensive. Hence why there are an abundance of elite scores and only a handful of elite defenders.

Rodman was very active on the offensive end - he used to lead the league in offensive rebounds every year + in the triangle offense the Bulls used to run he was a major part passing out of the low block

I think Phil was hinting that Rodman can still play 48 mins, even after a night in the cot with a bevey of baywatch chicks.
