NO Hornets - where to this time?

Just a random thought I had this morning while reading how Gustav is likely to be even more destructive than Katrina and is bearing down on New Orleans again: assuming that the Hornets, once again, are unable to play their home games in New Orleans this season, where will they relocate to this time, given that Oklahoma City now has their own team?

And a follow-up thought: would it be feasible for them to play in Seattle this season?

IMO, no. Seattle wont come out an support a team that will be heading back in a year or 2. It needs to be a place like OKC was that has never experienced an NBA team. Las Vegas?

We'd have a spot for them in the NBL? Could use a new team or two...

I wonder how they'd go about fitting the players under the points cap? Maybe they could contact the Tigers!

Now they have Sean Marks, they can go anywhere they want and be successful. :P

On a related topic, the Hornets have had a 'rebirth'. New uniforms which are a bit of a throwback to the Charlotte days (pinstripes are back!) and new logos. All to do with the NO's heritage.

The NBA have been trying for years now to get an NBA franchise based in Las Vegas; that was part of the reason they had the All-Star weekend there a few years ago.

I can see no issues with the Hornets moving up to there; it may convince the city to setup their own franchise depending on how sales go. Can't see how having a local team in one of the worlds gambling capitals, somehow not doing well.

loving the sexy new designs for NOR. Now if they can only redo the other boring unis of other teams it would be great. Try a touch of pink and purple and some slick looks and the NBA can be the fashion capital of the sporting world
