Knicks Memphis trade- thoughts?

Read on ESPN that the knicks and the Griz have talked of trading Zach Randolph for both Milicic and Jaric.

Here is the link;

The deal is only in discussions right now, lets see what the forum thinks...

My two cents-
If the new coach wants to score the ball, keep Zach, he can score well and will get the boards off the random misses the opposition will make.

I just hope Walsh talks to his head coach about the playing group before making trade decisions based solely on the 2010 barn sale.

I dont think the coach does want to score the ball more to be honest. Nobody trades randolf for darko "the bust" milicic and jaric without an ulterior motive. Surely NY are looking to make a run at James, Bosh & Co. come 2010.

Terrible move for Memphis. They have got a fantastic group of impressionable young up and coming players Rudy (Already a star), Conley Jnr, Mayo and Gasol. Why taint them with a player like Randolph with his poor attitude. Big Mistake, they obviously have some money to spend, but they need to find a leader.

Have to agree with ESP. They are putting together a good young roster at Memphis, why saddle yourselves with a cancer who is attached to a bad contract?

Straight salary dump by the Knicks, IMHO they are looking for $s before Ws now (see also: Denver and the Camby trade). Not sure why the Grizz would want to do this trade, cap space is the only real asset they have and they could use it to get a better player than Randolph.

The answer is because Chris Wallace is Memphis GM. Why take on Randolph when all he'll do is clog up your cap space, hog the ball and stunt the growth of everyone else on the team? Its not as if he will help them make the playoffs. They're still headed for a high lottery pick after this season.

Walsh should have sent Randolph to the Clippers (if reports are to be believed) for nothing when he had the chance. Then if he could just dump Curry's contract the Knicks could begin their road to recovery.

Just finished reading "7 seconds or less" the behind the scenes look at the suns team from a few seasons back.

In the last chapter the coaches talk about players they would like to have, coach D mentions Darko...

Not sure if he is behind the trade proposal, all the mail says its Walsh's brainchild, also not sure if D'Antonio has soured on Darko since the book was written.
