Just pretend you're wealthy, stuck-up and have ambitions to be a doctor.

If they give you crap, dish it straight back.

I know all about it.

I have plenty of in-laws with the surname "Singh"

Spend time together and try to understand her culture.
Be open minded.
Be extremely careful with the religious side of things.
Multicultural is way cool.

When you meet the parents ask "can I speak to the business owner please?"

Taking photos at an Indian wedding in about a month, the bride is stunningly beautiful but a first class bridezilla, super high maintenance!! Very different culture, she considers it a small wedding but there are 600 guests and about 8 bridesmaids, should be pretty full on but really looking forward to it, it's good to mix things up in life eh?

Having spent way too many months in India, all I can say is, go into the relationship with your eyes and ears open and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Generally, Indians are a very proud culture and love sharing it with others. In any multicultural situation, biggest mistake people make is assuming different = wrong.

Having said all that, depends on if girl was born and raised in India or in Australia.

Also, I assume you're meaning Sub-Continent variety, not the North American Indian variety?

Isaac, why the hell is this topic up? Apart from the fact it has nothing to do with basketball, take a look at all the extremely racist comments. It's a fcking disgrace!

AGREE fully sb, shameful, racist and embarrassing.

Dr Bulsh*t, I dont see it as as being on a high horse, quite simply this topic is stereotyping an entire country based on very little information.

Anon #204022, no, the wedding's in London (well, in Slough actually). I certainly wouldn't be calling a client Bridezilla anywhere she has even a remote chance of reading it!

I had a real lucky friend who dated a gorgeous indian girl. One night he noticed the dot on her forehead...licked his thumb...used it to rub the dot off... AND WON A NEW CAR! Gigigity!
