Wanted: New Import

After tonight's performance against Perth, it's time for Tyndale to go. For all of those who argue that his stat lines are respectable, they are, but he doesn't seem to fit into the team. Although being a consistent (not good or great but consistent) performer in all stat catagories, he struggles to do any of them well. His offence in particular is dodgy as he can't create his own shot, is not reliable on the drive and is not a great jump shooter. Defensively he does ok, but doesn't actually shut players out of the match. Bring on the new import before it's too late!

I am over the 1 or 2 "Head-Fakes" he does prior to pausing, maybe think about the drive, maybe pass off.....???? I think he is totally confusing himself in offence. Don't really have any problem with his Defence...

Agree with Kobe-4-MVP

His defence was incredible tonight, from Weigh to Redhage he did well on everyone.

His rebounding and passing was below par tonight but he made up for that on the defensive end for sure.

Saying that, I would take Hodge if he gets cut. (sorry to everyone who is sick of hearing that)

Where was Balls tonight?? Didn't even see him at the game. Even if he was injured, wouldn't he be on the bench?

Ur kidding me that his defence and stats were good!?!?! What 10 points 2 rebounds and 2 assist in 40 minutes of play was good? His first half was pathetic including some nice air balls and bricks! The only time he scored was when the game was over and he was padding his stats and such great stats they were. When we needed him to step up in first half he was no where to be seen. Actually I lie he was too busy arguing with the umpires so he was actually seen. Yes great D he did on weigh instead of boxing him out let him go straight to the basket and dunk the play off a rebound for a nice 3 point play.

The guy is absolutely hopeless I can't believe you guys support him and think he had a good game. Victor had a shit game and had pretty much better stats then him in 10 minutes of play compared to Tyndales 40 minutes!

Could not agree more King James. Without doubt the worst import in the league. The problem is that he is not a specialist in any area, not a point guard, not a shooting guard, not a small forward, nothing. We will go nowhere with him in the side.
And I am sure that all supporters are tired of injuries week after week. They may be all very unfortunate, but perhaps we should start calling the side the Adelaide Wimps.
On a positive note, Luke's performance tonight was sensational. In a side that was pretty much hopeless around him, he stood tall, tremendous effort.
Holmes, as usual, put in 100%, Bruce's second half was much better that his first. Sadly, the rest were crap!

Tyndale has got to go. I can't believe there are some people on here suggesting he's been playing well. He has almost no impact on the game last night and has only played one really good game all season.

Bruce was a disgrace last night, it was a horrible performance. Our starting point guard had 1 assist and 8 turnovers. Terrible stats. I couldn't believe the new inventive ways he found to turn the ball over. There wasn't a pass too risky, a move too flashy for him. His fourth quarter was astounding. My favourite part was when he lost his mind after running into a hard screen and proceeded to turn the ball over 2 metres from the opposition basket resulting in an easy score. I also really enjoyed watching him hoist 3 ill-advised three-pointers instead of getting the ball into Luke as our 4th quarter run was starting to level out.

Amazing that we change so much of the roster and bring in a new coach I can't tell a single bit of difference from last season to this season. The Sixers still play a meaningless, directionless offence. They still play half assed defense. They are still as soft as cakes.

In bruces defence, he got hammered by moving screen after moving screen(The one that put him down was legit though), I can understand how he gets frustrated as didnt seem to get any love even on a few charge calls which somehow were no calls. They also had davisdson playing sg which didnt seem to work as not used to playing wothout the ball. I thought hinson got away with some calls that were close to unsportsmanlike. the double foul that was called was a joke, brunce just pushed him as hinson wouldnt release him from a headlock. 1 think i noticed was that even thought bruce had to wait for the inbound pass he was still the first one past half way on offence, the other players need to up the speed and get back for the easy transition basket which we hardly got any of last night. The umps called the game very physically and let alot of the rough stuff go for them but then called some little softies on us, that physicality definately helped them.
How coach Henry didnt get a delay of game for smashing his water bottle on the ground I dont know. That should be something the NBL look into as was lust laughable as one of the umpires was having a joke with the coach about it.
Tyndales D when 1 on 1 is great no doubt but his help d isnt good at all, i agree he need to stop thinking and just play as when he gets the ball he looks like he has a million things going through but its then too late to do anything..
With maher and balls last night would have been alot more enjoyable for all but was great to see a big ish crowd.

I think it's time for Tyndale to go. He's been over-rated from the very start.

He's not stepping up as required. He's too raw and lacks all-round skills.

He doesn't fire this team up and take over.

He's disappointing me and if we cut him, I hope they do it sooner rather than later.

if they are going to cut him, let them do it in a prompt manner, and not drag it out for 3/4 of the season when all is over,

I think you all raise good points but are a bit harsh, tyndale is a young man playing 2/3 position, we need to work with him to show the moves that he had in college. There is a time to break in a colt who is on his first overseas contract. I would say he is better than half the imports. The issue is we don't have a full squad and we don't have an nbl standard shooting guard option past Brett and this is where we are caught out especially without balls. Looking to the future we need to address the shooting guard spot ie a high points scorer with another high quality 3 point specialist on the bench Kersten maybe, if he stops being lazy and pushes himself forward as a player, he has a good stroke and basketball brain

Bretts the man

You have to be kidding about his defence . He would hustle a bit then they would blow past him like he wasnt there. Even when Scotty sorted out how to slow them down in 2 nd half Tyndale could not do his bit.
He cant shoot and in first 2 games he could drive at basket now they worked him out cant even do that now.
How many 6ft 3-- 6 ft 5 players do we want.
Bad selection and poor fit as said from when we had our team waiting to get import we needed a scorer as Brett and Ballinger were going to be our main ones and now they are both injury prone. However we did find another scorer in Schench how good was he . We have never had a centre dominate like that for a long long time. He was awesome

well Hodge is likely going to get the cut on the Nets.

if that happens, i would cut tyndale and make room for him.

The sixers have many problems but Tyndale is not one of them. while he has not dominated he has performed better than most sixers players. They need to think seriously about reducing Jacob Holmes' minutes and they need to give Schensch more time. if someone is 7 foot 2 and they can catch a ball they should be on the court.

Holmes is far better than Tyndale. I liked it when Tyndale tried to dunk in the warm up and it slipped out of his hands. I think I could do a better job

I love the effort that Tyndale puts into the game, the hustles and putting his body in for loose balls, etc.

However it seems that that is all he is bringing to the table at the moment. He is a terrible shooter, an average defender, and has possibly the worst hands I can recall seeing on an import. The number of times he fumbles a pass, or stuffs up his dribble or just plain drops the ball is just mind boggling. It got to the point last night where I was wincing every time he was dribbling near an opponent because it seemed like they were picking it really well and either easily disrupting it, or stripping it off him completely.

Its a shame, but at the very least the sixers should be fishing around for potential replacements.

Stuart, if Tyndale was an Australian Rookie, then this would be the perfect opportunity to "break in a colt". An import spot cannot be used for this purpose. Like I said before, he does not fit in. I blame Ninnis for this because he should never have gone for a young inexperienced player who hasn't proven himself. He could not even get his size right.

EC,

You say that now, but if he had of come over and played in the ilk of Hodge, or maybe Dusty then you wouldn't be complaining about his age and inexperience.

I don't know about other people and not necessarily in the case of Tyndale, but I love to see you players whether they be imports or Aussie's get a gig, generally speaking they put in 110% and just go for every loose ball which often the seasoned vets don't.
