Hurst goes back to back as WNBL POTW

The Canberra Capitals' Natalie Hurst has backed up a Nivea Player of the Week effort in Round 5 to take the title again in Round 6 of the Australian Defence Force Women's National Basketball League.

Hurst carried her momentum from last week to dominate play on Friday night against the Townsville Fire and on Sunday against the Logan Thunder.

She scored a team-high 20 points on Friday night, leading the Capitals to a 10-point victory, 71-61, over the previously undefeated Fire.

The five-time WNBL champion also grabbed three rebounds and two steals on the night, and hassled Townsville play-maker Rachael Flanagan in defence.
The honourable mentions include Angela Marino (23 points on Saturday), Abby Bishop (19 and 15, and then 12 and 12), and Deanna Smith (24/5/3 against Adelaide).
