Dates to await in 2004/05

The NBL is running an article anticipating the top ten dates for the coming season, including GF re-matches, Gaze's 600th game, etc.

The Sixers feature twice:

29 September 2004 Let's Get It On!

OK, we admit it... putting the start of the regular season on any list of NBL dates is a no-brainer. But when you're a true-blue hoops fan who trawls the 'net during the off-season for any mention of your team, it is THE date to look forward to. Only one game is scheduled for the premier 'Big Wednesday' of the new campaign but it shouldn't disappoint. The first game of the season features the NBL return of Adelaide 36ers superstar Willie Farley as well as the debut in Breakers uniform of US import Shawn Redhage and former Victoria Giants centre Ben Pepper. Add in the fact that the Breakers also scored their first-ever NBL victory at home against Adelaide in the opening game last season and you have yourself the recipe for a great way to shake off those off-season blues.

31 December 2004 A New Years to Remember

There is just something about South Australians and Brian Goorjian. The coach of the Sydney Kings is the man that people in the City of Churches just love to hate. Undoubtedly it has a lot to do with Goorjian's stints with the South East Melbourne Magic and Victoria Titans, when a clash between Adelaide and one of Goorj's teams was almost like an annual event. Goorjian-coached sides have faced the 36ers an amazing seven times in the playoffs since 1993. Needless to say, there is plenty of history between the fans of Adelaide and the Kings coach which will make Sydney's visit to the Distinctive Home Dome on New Years Eve a cracker. Expect fireworks!
