82.(BRL) -
83.(STK) N.Carroll

So there it is! I'm hoping the Crows somehow end up with Hamish Hartlett, Ryan Schoenmakers, Luke Shuey, Tom Rockliff and Kris Massie but I don't like our chances with some of them.

Port fans will all be deperately hoping that Freo are not lying and that they are actually stupid enough to pick Stephen Hill at 3 - leaving arguably the best player in the draft, Daniel Rich, for the Power at 4.
This could also be good for the Crows if it means Hartlett, Sidebottom or even Ziebell slide to pick 10.

So, has anyone heard any rumours? done a mock draft yourself?

Who would you like to see at your club?

Post it all here and follow the picks on afl.com.au (http://linky.com.au/l8scg)on Saturday at 9.50am AEDST. (which is what time here?)

Isaac, would you mind bumping this up on Saturday if it goes off the page by then. Cheers.

;)

I can only hope! Sorry Skip, we need him more than you do!!

Have heard Freo are leaning towards Hill (typical horrible Freo decision!!) - meaning somehow the best player in the draft (Rich) goes to Port at 4! *ugh*
Can't see the Bombers taking Ziebell before Hartlett?

Though hopefully Freo do a Freo and miss Rich, which may encourage the Bombers to take Vickory (as he's about a 10000% upgrade on that spud Laycock!!) - leaving us with the tall defender we soooooo badly need - as I think the Bombers want him too to replace Fletcher eventually.

Crows are very keen on Lewis Johnston, he is quality for touches, but needs to improve his work ethic to get more of the ball.

I am hoping Rich slips through to #4 for Port

nice choices there XztatiK.

I reckon and i am hoping Adelaide choose something like this:

10: Jackson Trengove or Lewis Johnston
28: Ryan Shoenmakers (Mckernan if available)
44: Jarred Redden
60: Aaron Cornelius
72: Rhys O'Keefe, Chris Hall or Tyson Slattery

That would be a dream come true!!

Shoenmakers will not be there at 28.

Im praying my beloved demons take him at 17.

Highly doubt hell be there past 20

JACK WATTS IS A DEMON THOUGH!!!

Cheers yoyo, switch Cornelius and Redden on yours and it becomes possible. Don't want Slattery though.

Interesting article Isaac, lucky I'm not printing any of this or that guy would be pissed off :P

Here's what I think the first round will look like if Freo are dumber than I thought:

1.(MEL) J.Watts
2.(WCE) N.Naitanui
3.(FRE) S.Hill
4.(PTA) D.Rich
5.(ESS) T.Vickery
6.(CAR) M.Hurley
7.(BRL) J.Ziebell
8.(RIC) S.Sidebottom
9.(KAN) S.McKernan
10.(ADE) H.Hartlett
11.(COL) J.Trengrove
12.(SYD) C.Yarran
13.(STK) L.Johnston
14.(WBD) A.Cordy
15.(GEE) T.Swift
16.(HAW) P.Davis

Ok, yeah I'm just trying to figure out a way that Hartlett slides to 10.

I really hope Port get Rich at #4....but I have this ugly feeling we'll take Hartlett.

Schoenmakers at 22 would be nice also.

I also hope we end up with Rhys Stanley and Paul Cahill. Tough nut Rory Sloane will also be on our agenda me thinks.

All in all....please let us get Rich.

Ok, with the ever-increasing rumour of Port taking Hartlett, I'm changing my first round again lol:

1.(MEL) J.Watts
2.(WCE) N.Naitanui
3.(FRE) S.Hill
4.(PTA) H.Hartlett
5.(ESS) D.Rich (happy with that skip?)
6.(CAR) M.Hurley
7.(BRL) J.Ziebell
8.(RIC) T.Vickery
9.(KAN) S.Sidebottom
10.(ADE) L.Johnston
11.(COL) J.Trengrove
12.(SYD) C.Yarran
13.(STK) S.McKernan
14.(WBD) A.Cordy
15.(GEE) T.Swift
16.(HAW) P.Davis

anon, (and any other port supporters) would you prefer Schoenmakers (Ryan O'Keefe clone) or Lisle (key defender) with pick 22?

XztatiK - No, I want Hurley

I think I'd prefer Schoenmakers. His mobility gives him the O'Keefe comparisons but he is a genuine 194cm key position player. I read somewhere he grew 3-4 cm this year.

Port would be very happy with Trengrove at 22.

Overall im pretty happy with Adelaide picks. Their first 2 picks are the ones they needed to choose wisely and with Mckernan at 28 i think they got a steal. Not sure about Phil Davis at 10. Would've been happier with either Sidebottom/Johnston/Trengove. Oh well lets hope it pays off.

now for the rookie and pre-season draft.

I hope Adelaide picks a couple of the available indigenous boys - Varcoe, sharples and clancee peirce

I agree yoyo, in hindsight they probably would have gone with Sidebottom considering they snared three key forwards later. I guess now that we have 7 good young key forwards at least one or two of them will become 50+ goal players... I hope.

McKernan at 28 and Trengrove at 22 are the steals of the draft IMO. Good job SA!

I was sooooo hoping that Aaron Cornelius kept sliding all the way to pick 60 but bloody Voss had to ruin it and take him at 57!

I don't mind Rory Sloane at 44 and our last pick, Will Young looks great from his youtube video.

As for the rookie draft, I can't believe some of the talent that went undrafted:
Tom Rockliff
Matt Deboer
Clancee Pearce
Kade Klemke
Casey Sibosado
James Boyd

...so hopefully we grab one or two of them as rookies. I think we have two spots free?

Here's Shaun McKernan:

I actually think Crows only have one rookie selection.

they kept Moss and Martin and I'm sure they signed the Irish lad.

I will be pleased if they get Adam Varcoe

Yes, you're right, I forgot about the Irish boy.

In that case I hope we get Rockliff, DeBoer or Boyd.

I though i read somewhere that it has been extended to 6 rookies.

Don't think so. There has been one change though - from round 12 onwards each team may nominate one rookie to be able to play senior games (without elevating him). I think it might be Moss at the Crows.
