Feb 4, Sixers vs Dragons - cheap flights

The Sixers are playing the Dragons in Melbourne on Wednesday the 4th of February.

For those interested the plane Tickets are VERY cheap around that time.

The cheapest I could find with only taking one day off from work was a return ticket for $69!! That is $30 there with Tiger and $39 back with Jetstar (Carry on luggage only).

The flight there is on Tuesday night at 6:35pm (arriving at 8:20pm). The flight back is on Thursday morning at 6:55am and arriving in Adelaide at 7:35am with just enough time to make it to work.

There seems to be lots of cheap tickets around this time, so perhaps its a good time to stay in Melbourne till the weekend (Return tickets on both Saturday and Sunday from $39-$49 Carry on baggage, $49-$57 for normal baggage)

That is pretty good value to watch an away game while also having an excuse to spend a few days in Melbourne. Maybe a cheap trip worth considering? It would be good to get good support at that game!

Note: Prices do not include loss of money at the Crown Casino ;)

I'm there - I got Tiger both ways for $46 return paying taxes only.

Will be great to have other supporters there in voice. Hopefully we can cheer loud enough to rattle some players and spectators and help get the boys over the line! =)

Flights on Tuesday night and return on Thursday morning means 2 nights accommodation and 1 day only in Melbourne. That is hardly good value. It could be cheaper to pay more for your flight and leave Wednesday morning and return Thursday night giving you only 1 night accommodation and 2 days in Melbourne.

EC I was basing it on if you had free accommodation there. There was another good deal I saw leaving Wednesday after noon about 3ish and then coming back Thursday morning.

The point is there is lots of cheap Tickets which could cater for alot of possibilities. Hopefully we get a good show of support there.

DJ could you recommend where we could all sit as I haven't been to that stadium before. I don't usually like being behind the rings.

EC - free accommodation mate! =)

Yeah, if there is a desire to sit somewhat together, definitely don't want to be behind the rings.

Would love to be behind one of the team benches if possible.

I dont know if you could even arrange something through the sixers?

Quite often, the visiting team in Adelaide has a group of their supporters sitting right behind them on the bench.

Is there still a cheer squad for the Sixers? I remember years ago, there was something like the footy cheer squads. May have been only home games though..

Hisense Arena

A tad misleading as it dosn't show the corporate boxes that run in front of the yellow zones and they are about 4 deep.
Yellow areas you are looking at $35.00
blue area you are looking at $24.50

Opposition is end 7,8,9,10.
I normally go for a end view as the sides are a good 15 rows back (plus corporate boxes) before you get into $24.50 seats and than mainly dominated with Dragons members who are on the cheaper package so you end up equivalant of concourse or above in Dome terms on the sides.
For the sides you want to steer clear of zone 7 and 10, seats face straight ahead and extremely weird spot to watch a game from (they are not angled like the dome).
You want to go for zone 8 & 9 and try and keep it as close to the outer walkways for a pretty good view, usually can pick up row 3-5 in that area pretty easily.

Anyone who dosnt mind an end view is welcome to join me (a sixer fan) and a few melb bball junkies down that way.

Excellent work DJ! Where will the Sixers bench be? From my understanding it is where 1 and 2 will be?

The seats behind the opposition bench at the Dome are often allocated to visiting players and they, in turn, give them to friends and family.

At other venues, seats for the visiting team to give to friends are not always as good - for the Bullets a few years back, we were right up near the back.

More brilliant work by DJ, & Isaac's on the mark with visiting seat allocations around the traps. Not all clubs are as nice to visiting fans as the 36ers.
It's a money first business world out there, & the rest of the league look to disadvantage visitors.
There's no prize in it, but I'd be interested to see if someone could post how our "single clap" for visiting players came about.

I'm pretty confident that the opposition bench is at 11 & 12 (they seemed to have switched it from last season. Maybe Dicko can confirm.

The players/opposing club tickets are usually in 35 (terrible viewing)
