Refurbished Apple Products

Has anyone hear bought refurbished Apple ipods, macs etc from the Apple store? What was the condition like? Any scratches at all? Was it as good as new? I have good things about but wanted to hear some opinions from some Hoopsters on hear before I make a decision.
