NH: Adelaide's Best Kept Secrets...

I'm looking for a nice quiet and relatively secluded spot that is potentially overlooking the city or just somewhere that you can be alone with that special someone....does anyone have info on such places in Adelaide? I'd appreciate the heads up!!

Natural (park/lookout) or commercial (i.e., restaurant)?

Edit: Forgot a joke - if you want something quiet, what about Pasadena during a Sturt Men's ABA game?

windy point
or follow the Parade up into the hills. There's a sweet spot up there looking back over the city, quite secluded.

What's the occasion?

For commercial, Magill Estate and Windy Point have views. Can't think of any great natural spots overlooking the city that aren't going to attract hoons or a number of other people. McElligots Reserve has views but the site itself isn't really that attractive. You could jump the fence and climb Brown Hill or whatever it's called, but it's not appealing in itself and you might be dodging cow pats. Somewhere in North Adelaide perhaps? Montefiore Hill?

What about down the coast somewhere (Myponga Beach is quieter than somewhere like Victor), McLaren Vale (was at Tapestry the other week and that has a good outlook) or Willunga, up in the Clare Valley (Salt & Vines is elevated, or Skillogalee is a nice setting), etc.

Mt Lofty summit is good - restaurant + hiking
Another good one if ur keen on the great outdoors is to pack your bike on a train and take it to Belar station and ride home.

Clare: Skilly is a great rest. Also, Pauletts is fantastic
Barossa: Murdock cellar door, or Menglers Hill
M Vale: Penneys Hill winery (Ingleburne) - old two storey house has character

If you are after some hanky panky, try the motor bike up Gorge Rd

Try the Cove Tavern on a Friday night. You'll always get a decent tip from the local experts on the dogs and will probably win a few bucks - that way you can really buy your missus something special.

Try the Grange or Largs Pier Hotels.Overlook the ocean they both do.Then as the Sun sets you can walk along the Jetty. Then if she turns you down Tell her to go Jump.Or push you could.
