Poto wins WNBL Round 11 POTW

Sydney Uni Flames captain Alicia Poto has been named the Nivea Player of the Week for Round 11 of the Australian Defence Force Women's National Basketball League.

Poto won the honour after top-scoring efforts in the Flames' victories over the Australian Institute of Sport, 86-61, and the Townsville Fire, 76-67.

The feisty point guard led all scorers with 21 points on Wednesday night against the AIS. She also grabbed five rebounds, six assists and six steals.

But it was a phenomenal 37-point performance against the Townsville Fire on Saturday that gave Poto the nod; it is the highest number of points scored by an individual in a single game this season.
Perth Lynx guard Melissa Marsh was another player with a standout performance; she posted a triple-double against the Logan Thunder with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
Marino from the Lightning got a mention, as did Abby Bishop who had 28 and 11 for the Caps.
