Due to other comittments west have declined to enter the tournament much to my dismay. Hopefully next years carnival will have 100% participation now that everyone knows that it will be a yearly event.

i beleive the round 1 clash you had lined up for them for 6:00pm friday night at starplex may have had something to do with their decision!!

Well Lloyd that may be the case but the official reason from West Women's Team the team was unable to commit to the date because of unavailability of players. If it was a court timing clash with Friday at 6 well as you can tell that could have been changed as you see the Friday night times have been changed to suit some clubs travel times. As well as some Saturday changes to suit a club event for 1 club. If it was an opponent issue (which I doubt) the schedule was designed on a standard tournament format with seeding based on the end of season results for summer 2004 (with no malice whatsoever).

So from what Lloyd is saying Wests pulled out because they had a 6pm game at Starplex and from what Glenn is saying he has changed times to suit teams and travelling times, thats fair enough.

I think it is very poor of Wests Women not to support this carnival if that is the real reason, this is a great idea and Glenn should be congratulated for putting this together. Maybe the Men's ABA teams could do a simlar thing next year.

Glenn,

Great to see this sort of carnival happening.
What is the cost associated for spectators and what games are scheduled after Friday night's results????

The cost for spectators will be $5/day or $10 all weekend pass(available at the door friday night), by purchasing a weekend pass the spectator is entered into the Club Financial $1000.00 challenge 5 winners will have a chance to shoot for the cash during the championship game half time.

Unfortunately Forestville has withdrawn from the carnival so once again the draw will be revisited. Now with 8 teams everyone will play all 3 days and winners will play on the championship side semi finals on Saturday at 2:00pm and 4:00pm with the grand final sunday at 6:00pm after the bronze medal game at 4:00pm.

The consolation side will be played Saturday at 2:00pm and 4:00pm and Sunday the consolation final will follow the friendship game at 4:00pm and 2:00pm respectively
