Statement from BASA re Bernie Lewis

I have been provided with this official statement from BASA:

--

The Basketball Association of South Australia would today like to express its sincere condolences at the tragic passing of former club Chairman, Mr Bernie Lewis and his wife Christine.

The news of their recent deaths has devastated all those involved in the club. Bernie Lewis served as Chairman to the 36ERS board for 7 years and along with wife Christine were very kind and warm supporters and contributors to the club.

The management, boards, players and staff of BASA would like to extend their sympathies to Mark and Vanessa Lewis and their respective families.

Bernie and Christine will be remembered during a minute's silence at this Sunday's Pura Milk Sixers game and all players and club officials will be suited with armbands.

The club would also like to thank members of the media, club sponsors and supporters who have also expressed their deep sorrow in recent days.

Thankyou.
