Thanks Kobe-for-MVP, How do you go about setting up for that? When I go onto AV and pick up the TV channels the HD's are not there. Is the loop for my TV-DVD-aerial backward or something?

PLEASE HELP I'M ELECTRONICALLY CHALLENGED :)

I'm guessing your looking forward to an additional 4-5 Kobe games per month?

If you can pick up tv channels on your DVD recorder then the ariel is installed correctly.

The DVD recorder may not have a TV tuner capable of picking up digital/HD signals.

The DVD recorder tuner may not be set for digital. My tv tuner in the computer can only pick up analouge or digital not both. I have to set it for the required signal type . It only has one tv tuner on the card.

Same problem as anon above, so I cut this from the LG website for my DVD recorder:

"Model : RC389H

Digital Video Improvement feature as well as up-conversion with 1080P via HDMI and VCR Picture Level ensures you won't compromise on picture quality. Other attentive functions supports ease of use such as Dual DV Recording and One Touch Cross Dubbing from disc and VHS."

Will this player need a HDMI cable? Do I still need the AV and sound cables or will it replace them?

Looks like people are getting excited about free NBA on TV

Vc for 3 you dont need a hdmi cable but you will get better picture quality if you use one. however you can only use one if you tv has a hdmi in socket.

you can only tape HD on your dvd recorder if its a blue ray recorder.
a standard dvd recorder doesnt have HD.

for about $50 bucks you can pick up a usb hdtv (ebay)reciever and record games on your computer and burn them on a rewriteable dvd to watch or just watch them on the computer monitor even.

No you are not wrong. They will be shown on TEN HD to begin with and then change to ONE HD once its starts

How does the usb receiver work on the computer? Does it just allow you to view tv on the PC? If so, Amazing! I have trouble getting the password right on my e-mail =)

This thread is starting to look like a crashcourse in modern living for techno-phobes, isn't it?

Maybe i could have learnt something at school instead of learning off hand layups
