Milner wins WNBL Round 16 POTW

Bulleen Boomers point guard Sharin Milner has been named the Nivea Player of the Week for Round 16 of the Australian Defence Force Women's National Basketball League.

Milner posted an equal game-high tally of 19 points in the Boomers 76-69 victory over the Sydney Uni Flames on Sunday.

The 162cm Milner played a near flawless game, committing no turnovers in her 37 minutes on court while grabbing three rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Representing Adelaide in the "noteworthy" list were:
Angela Marino led Adelaide with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists while Cayla Francis added 15 points and 8 rebounds.
Also worth noting was Abby Bishop:
Abby Bishop had another standout week for the Capitals posting 27 points and 9 rebounds against the AIS and 15 points and 8 rebounds against Logan.

flawless point guard play + 19 points >> 27 points from a forward whose job is to score.

Milner has been in good form all season but been especially good in the last month or so. She's a major cog in Bulleen's run to the finals. Also playing without her usual backup too. Not sure where she has gone (Tenielle Cann)? Hasn't been sighted at games since the break.

Milner is the best point guard in the league full stop.

The only player that even comes close is Nat Hurst, but Milner trumps her in experience, leadership and on-court smarts.

About time Milner got some recognition.

Cann left the team shortly after christmas. The rumor is that she was unhappy with court time. I doubt she was ever going to be taking many minutes off Milner

Daffyth - are you saying that harrower is a worse player than milner and hurst??? somehow i doubt that!!

Agreed though that Milner is a very good point Guard, second though to Harrower.
