Heal: Daniel Joyce second best youngster in NBL
Shane Heal declared Blaze young gun Daniel Joyce in the top two youngsters in the league after the 21-year-old produced a scintillating fourth-quarter display to take the game away from Wollongong at the weekend.
Joyce sunk four crucial baskets in 90 seconds to continue a breakthrough season for the guard.
"Other 21-year-olds get on the court and they hit one basket and the crowd go crazy, he (Joyce) does it regularly," said Heal. "People forget he is 21 years of age, apart from Joe Ingles (Souths Dragons star) there's nobody that contributes statistically to a team like him."Full story
(IMO, Daniel Meers is the most sycophantic writer covering the NBL.)
Let's see - ten youngsters (under 25) I'd recruit before Daniel Joyce: Joe Ingles, Brad Hill, Kerry Williams, Michael Cedar, Erik Burdon, Tom Abercrombie, Corey Webster, Damian Martin, Tyson Demos, Chris Goulding, etc.
No one contributes statistically to a team like him? Is it because he's getting overplayed? That's great if it works, but 8-22 isn't "working".
