I just found this extra bit of info on some of the U19 Emu's players on the BA website...this is something good from BA!

"At the Emus final selection camp last week Head Coach Marty Clarke, guard Matthew Dellavedova and centre Shane Harris-Tunks took some time out to talk about the training, the team's progress and their chances at the upcoming FIBA Under-19 World Championship for Men."

Dwayne Radcliffe is a guy who has been left out. This could be cause he isn't getting great minutes at North West Thunder in the SEABL from what i've seen. At nationals he was in the top players.

Bryce Arnott probably not, don't think he is a great on court leader and has a hot head. Isn't he under an injury cloud atm as well?

the coaches have had radcliffe at AIS for two years so they know what they are getting so i dont think recent form would be the reason he missed out

Giraffe 73 where you even at the under 20 Nationals? Radcliffe wasn't amongst the best players, not by a long shot. I like him as a player but he was disappointing at the Nationals. Agree with anon, he was at the AIS for two years so the coaches know his game well enough. Other players have gone past him to make the Emus instead of him.

As for Arnott he isn't under an injury cloud and trained at the Emus camp strongly so was picked for the team. He's a different sort of guard that brings much needed toughness and is a team player who will pass the ball ahead to someone in a better position rather than hang on to the ball and bring it up himself. A hot head maybe, but the team might need a player like that?

I'm sure everyone will have their opinions on who should and shouldn't have made the team? But well done to all the boys that made it and good luck to them in France and at the Worlds.
