Perth's Marvin hints at NBL Points Cap changes

In a blog entry suggesting that the real benefits of the NBL reform process so far are in the levelling of the playing field, Cats CEO Nick Marvin makes mention of the points cap for 2009/2010.

Turning to the points cap. Whilst it's gone up to 70, BA has had the wisdom to silence the voices of self-interest and get rid of the loyalty concessions. It may seem obvious now and I've been screaming about it for three years, but how can you have a system that spreads talent and then slip in concessions for young players, old players, players at clubs that went bust and the like?
Here's the full article (though note that the portion I've quoted is the only part covering the points cap).

Two things I've been hoping to see are not included or just not mentioned at this point:

- shift to a broader scale (e.g., 1-20), unless they're introducing half-points
- change to publicised peer review rather than statistical method with player appeals
