Who are the 5 oldest players in ABA ?
Do basketballers peak at any age - seems to be that once over 30 in football getting too old but i reckon basketballers can play well beyond 30 and still be at peak
wondering who oldest are and how they rate ?

would say the clubs and these 2 old balls players are very hapy with the return for the season.
krause is like 31, breeding was like 38 last season and could still produce if ur injury free u can keep going!!!

I reckon you peak in terms of the combination of athleticism, understanding of the game, experience skills, reflexes etc etc at around 28.. for about 3-4 years then start to drop off in the athleticism, reflexes categories from early 30s onwards

Would you rather have a crafty old centre with a few extra kilos setting big screens around the key, or a wirey old guard with an itchy trigger finger from the 3?
Lockstock that is fine in the case of professional atheletes that dedicate the time and effort and have the resoruces stay focussed on their games. In the ABL in most cases you peak at around 23/24. Just look at the Woolacot winners over the past decade. Probably about 80% of those playing local ABL are 25 or under too.
I think there is no surprise that at an ABL level, the teams with an older roster are the ones at the top of the table.
Consistency, composure, commitment and understanding all the nuances of the game can only come after you have played at the top level for a long time.
There are plenty of players out there with speed and athleticism but struggle to translate it successfully at the next level for many many years.
A classic example is DMT from the eagles, you can jump out the roof against him, but all he needs to do is get the slightest hip check on you as you jump and all you will do is jump really high in the wrong direction.

Imports play into their 40's as we have seen with D-mac. There is one with Hobart C Johnson who I noticed in a program the other week was 40 something.

Kosmider has been in the league about 15years. He would have to be at 35 wouldn't he?
